6th Annual Sustainable Design Challenge helps teens see future solutions

April 10, 2012, Wheaton, Ill. - This condominium design integrates a green roof and walls, and solar panels plus amenities within walking distance to decrease the need for cars. "We designed the condos to be completely self-sufficient. Concrete made with coal ash, countertops made out of recycled airplane glass, and paint that resists mold and combats air pollution were some of the solutions for energy efficiency to be found at a student showcase this morning.
